Upper Long Valley

Upper Long Valley is a small swimming hole that is occasionally used for nude or topless swimming or sunbathing on weekdays, when there's enough water in the creek and nobody else is present.

Lower Long Valley

Rating: C

Just past the previous two beaches, there are two more water holes that are sometimes used for au naturel swimming. You may encounter a few visitors there or even have the sites all to yourself. Please let us know what happens!

Upper Cache Creek

Rating: C

Upper Cache is a little further from the bridge, so it is slightly more "private" than downstream Lower Cache Creek Beach.

Lower Cache Creek

Rating: C

This group of four swimming holes near Highway 20 between Williams and Clear Lake draws locals and tourists for suited use -- and occasional clothing-optional sunbathing and swimming. Cops come here too, so please use them with discretion.

 

Legal status:

Believed to be California Department of Fish and Game, Federal Bureau of Land Management, or reservation land.
