Bravo Jim Meko for supporting Prop B. Almost all of our elected officials and those running for office are cowards and afraid to challenge organized labor. They would rather watch our City crumble than ask City employees to contribute more for their generous benefits. You stand with the vast majority of San Francisco residents.

Well done a man who lives,works and supports the neighborhood for years now. Hope he wins this tough race. The interview shows the depth of knowledge and contempt for the current board's action or lack of. I live here Jim sure sound like the best for our district.

Jim Meko is supremely qualified to represent District Six and should get the Guardian's blessing. He has lived in the neighborhood for three decades, runs a small printing business, and has been actively involved in ground level neighborhood activism for years. He has a distinguished record of accomplishment through the South of Market Leadership Council, the Western SOMA Citizens Planning Taskforce, and as a member of the Entertainment Commission. He knows the city bureaucracy and has helped countless individuals and businesses to navigate the regulatory landscape. He has brokered agreements between hostile parties, preserving the peace and unique mix that characterizes South of Market. His biggest contribution has been in the areas of land use, where his efforts have established mechanisms to encourage smart development that will enhance rather than destroy the neighborhood. And he has been incredibly effective: many of the policies he has helped set in place have been goals of neighborhood activists for decades. He has earned the respect and admiration of those who have seen his actions. He is smart and has a really big heart, and can be fierce in the defense of what he thinks is best for his neighborhood. He will do the same for his constituents. If he is elected Supervisor, the entire District 6 will benefit from the kind of intelligence, vigilance, and commitment he has given so generously to South of Market.
