Sharmin Bock is one of just two candidates for district attorney ever to try a criminal case in court. In fact, she's tried plenty of them in a 23-year career as an Alameda County prosecutor. She's lived in San Francisco all that time, commuting across the Bay because, she told us, Alameda County had one of the two best D.A.'s offices in the country. (Not a nice assessment of the office she's seeking; her implication is that she didn't want to work at home because the office was never up to her standards).

Bock really pushed the experience line, saying that a candidate who hadn't been in the trenches couldn't lead a team of lawyers on the path toward reform. She told us she doesn't think low (or maybe even mid-level) drug dealers should be in jail, and is big on changing the was cases are charged. She told us she opposes the death penalty, would never charge a non-violent felony as a third strike, and would focus on fixing the crime lab problems. She also vowed to be aggressive about municipal corruption.

Thank you for the endorsement

Thank you for the endorsement interviews. They are tremendously helpful, especially, under an IRV system. However, I noticed to date you have not done an interview with District Attorney Candidate Vu V. Trinh. I hope that this interview will take place.

From what I have been able to garnered at the debates, candidate forums, news articles, and his website, Mr. Trinh appears to be a well-qualified candidate of integrity, who is offering real solutions, in the present, to our current justice system and safety. I would like to learn more.

I hope you can provide the voters of our beloved City with an in depth and penetrating interview of this candidate. Thank you.

So the Bay Guardians are only "Guardians" for a price. I think it was Einstein that said, "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Well, this time I'm going for a different result by voting differently and disregarding the so-called polls, the amount of money that a candidate has raised, the endorsements of lobbyists and self-interested groups, and the candidates who only say what their high-priced political consultants have scripted for them to say.

I want real change and real solutions to our criminal justice system and safety. I want SF to be the beacon for freedom, justice, truth and safety. I have listened to each candidate at the debates and forums and read each candidate's plan and "truth changes everything!" And, the truth is change starts with me, my vote.

I agree with H. Brown that Mr. Trinh is by far the best candidate and will vote accordingly come November 8th.
