Calling all Barflies, beer drinkers, highballers, and aficionados of the fine drink!!
It’s time to shine the spotlight on those who keeps us hydrated.  Vote for your favorite bartenders (and their venues) in the categories listed below.
1.    Craziest Bartender
2.    Bartender with the Best Cocktail – Include name of cocktail
3.    Sexiest Male Bartender
4.    Sexiest Female Bartender
5.    Best Shrink Behind the Bar
6.    Funniest Bartender (AKA The Godfrey*)
7.    Crankiest Bartender
The Bay Area’s favorites will be featured in Scene: The Guardian Guide to Nightlife and Glamour, coming March 24th!
*Named after our 1st bartender hall of fame inductee, three-time winner Meredith Godrey of the Horseshoe Tavern.

Please join us for this FREE! Friday Nights de Young event! on March 19th from 6 to 8:45pm.  The Guardian is hosting FOLK YOU!  in celebration of the Amish Abstractions Quilt exhibit.
Enjoy a live set with local country great, Red Meat.  A Psychedelic Barn Dance with Honky Tonk, Texas Swing, Bluegrass and Outlaw Country by KUSF’S DJ Schmeejay.

Plus a showcase of two local artists: Sonya Philip (fiber artist) & Vera Costa (visual artist)

Visit the Urban Fauna Studio table in the Murals Room, learn the ancient tradition of hand spinning yarn and needle felt a wool patch to use in your own quilt or fiber art piece!

Stop by the Guardian table at the event, and enter to win prizes by local retailers: Isso, Secession, and Dema!

Guardian readers love their wild and furry friends and we're on a hunt to find The Cutest in the Bay!

It's a battle of the pets and there can only be 1 ultimate winner in the 3 categories: 1. Dogs 2. Cats 3. Other.  The Guardian editorial staff will pick the top 5 finalists in each category that will move on to the final round.  The 15 finalists will have their pet's photo in the March 17th issue, from which Guardian readers will elect The Cutest Pet in the Bay!

Winners in each category will be featured in the PET Issue, on stands March 31st and receive prize packages from  EmBARKadero Social Club, Cheengoo, and Nuena.

To enter, send a short paragraph on why your animal is The Cutest in the Bay and one photo to promos@sfbg.com (subject line: Cutest Pet in the Bay).  Or mail to : Cutest Pet in the Bay, c/o Guardian, 135 Mississippi St, San Francisco, CA 94107.  All entries must be in house by 3/15 by 2pm.

The Blue Wizard - Winner of Best Dressed Award

On February 19, the Guardian and Yerba Buena Center For the Arts hosted the opening night party Cool Blue Thing in celebration of Renee Green's Endless Dreams and Time-Based Streams multimedia installation.

The Crowd came dressed in their coolest blue, enjoyed delicious Campari cocktails and were enthralled with great performances by L.A.'s best rock band Wounded Lion and local soft-psych sensations Colossal Yes!
